Add note field to when you mark a pet as "lost"

When you mark an animal as lost, you should be able to put a note against that. I.e. When you mark as lost, there is a comments box: - "Dog went missing when at Example Beach at 10am"- "Dog escaped from fenced property in Y suburb at around 4pm"- "Parrot escaped at about 9am on Friday from Blah Suburb" It might help for when those animals are retrieved and compared against the register

Breeder Details locked in

I would like to have my breeder details locked in to any puppy registered by me on the microchip Animal Companion Council registration details. This would mean that no matter what -any pup / dog bred by me should always be able to find its way back so that I am able to be a lifelong responsible breeder of any dogs produced.

GPS Tracking

Could the microchip not include a GPS tracking system. And linked to the owner for monthly subscription etc. It will help illuminate lost pets and reunited our pets faster.

Linked Lostpet.co.nz listing

When I mark a pet as lost on the NZCAR, I would like to be prompted to create a listing on LostPet.co.nz.

Registering parrots without microchip

I am not sure if this falls totally out of scope for the NZCAR stands for, but thought I would raise anyway. For small-medium parrots, you can get them chipped. It is not as common as it causes a lot of stress to parrots (they have to go under anaesthesia), and due to how vulnerable/delicate they are in general. Sometimes people mark their parrots with a leg band https://www.parrot.co.nz/LegRings https://www.parrot.co.nz/resources/Documents/RingSizeChart.pdf Maybe an option to add a leg band description if applicable: blue leg band on right leg metal leg band on left leg with ID number 1234 Maybe when someone goes to register their parrot and it is neither banded nor chipped, you could reference resources like above to encourage/educate on it. People only tend to get their parrots chipped when their parrot is: a) big and expensive b) their parrot is already going under anaesthesia for another reason, so you may as well get them chipped while you are at it Is it possible to be able to register your parrot without a microchip? Parrots go missing all of the time because (((flyinnggg))). What if you could register your parrot with just where they live (general area), having multiple photos, and their regular vet as their details? Then if a vet or animal rescue has them, they could compare possibly look at the register to compare the rescued parrot against parrots marked as "lost" in the register and compare the "lost" notes (see below) to see if there is a match. Lots of people who lose their parrots end up using the power of Facebook lost pet pages to help, but would be cool to be able to extend this to parrots that aren't chipped I am not sure if you can do this already (I'll raise a separate ticket), but when you mark an animal as lost, you should be able to put a note against that. I.e. Mark as lost - "Dog went missing when at Example Beach at 10am"- "Dog escaped from fenced property in Y suburb at around 4pm"- "Parrot escaped at about 9am on Friday from Blah Suburb"

Is there an API

I'm interested to see if you have an API so we can integrate some animal details into our app. Is this an area we could discuss?

Ability to upload more than one photo of pet

Option to add 1-3 photos (or 5) of pet. Although chips are used as the main identifier for NZCAR, it can be hard to fully distinguish the markings of a dog with one photo. Options to add some more photos to assist with ID purposes.

More breeds available in breed drop down

The drop down for dog breeds is quite limited. There is bulldog and american bulldog - there was no english bulldog option. The same with parrots. The drop down list for breeds of parrots is very limited. I was looking out of curiosity for my parrot (indian ringneck) and that breed wasn't listed (very common breed). I was also surprised to see how small the list was for parrot breeds Here is a list of parrot breeds in NZ https://www.parrot.co.nz/resources/Documents/RingSizeChart.pdf
